Mmm.... I'm not sure that I can completely agree with you. I would definitely say that the extra paranoia is reasonable considering the circumstances, but as far as Lavender's personality completely changing. . . I don't think we know enough about his prewar life to make that assumption. Lavender could have been a regular pot smoker and decided not to leave home without being well stashed. How he got to using  tranquilizers, we don't know, but I would think it was at least in his nature to experiment with drugs since he used them heavily in the war.
