Modern War
Modern war looks very different than it did in previous wars. The age of terrorism has primarily changed the way the enemy is perceived. Terrorism shrinks the enemy to insurgent groups rather than the entire countries like in previous wars. Be that as it may, soldiers have a difficult task when it comes to distinguishing a civilian from an insurgent. This issue is very serious in that it leads to situations like the one we found Sand Queen where Naema's father and brother were imprisoned despite their innocence. Another difference in modern war from previous wars is the role that the media plays in the way that American civilians view war. The media tends to broaden the enemy and demonize people that share the national identity of the real enemy.
