War in the Age of Terror

War in the age of terror is often fought behind desks as much as it is fought out in the field. Before soldiers can be deployed intel must be gathered like in Zero Dark Thirty. Intel gathering can take months or years before soldiers are deployed to do anything. When enough intel is gathered to take action against any targets, it may not be soldiers taking action, instead drones or bombs execute targets. This makes the war on terror very impersonal and often riddled with mistakes because dropping a bomb or deploying a drone has ethical repercussions. The civilizations have to deal with these decisions and injuries. This makes the war on terror often feel like a war on liberty. A war on liberty where anyone can be killed at any time by drones hovering over your heads for reasons that are often classified.
