NO, NO, NO!!!!!

ARGH!!!!  The Marine in me cringes at these fools' lack of regard for security. The moment they decided to let the doctor on base without a search, I said to myself, "They're all fuckin dead." Sure enough...  HUGE error.  Unforgivable on the part of all involved in that decision.  I can't believe they let that happen.  If I were there, I would have never stood for that.  And even if I had, I would have shot the dude dead after the first "Allahu Akbar."  That's the unmistakable suicide bomber catchphrase.  There was no other logical reason for him to say that.  He wasn't praying, it's not a greeting, in that situation the only thing that means is famous last words. The utterance of those words in that situation is cause enough to shoot. Blasting him and the driver right then could have kept them from detonating the bomb. COULD have. No guarantee though.

I passed a similar test while in combat training.  We did simulated checkpoint searches, our weapons loaded with blanks.  One guy drove up pretending to be a civilian contractor.  We had him get out of the vehicle with his hands up, then slowly walk forward.  As he approached his hand moved down toward something. Bang bang bang. I took him out immediately.  Sure enough, there was a trigger device inside his coat.  That's how security is supposed to work.  No matter what.

Still, there is no guarantee that proper security measures can keep the worst from happening.  Threats can still break through, and innocent people can be targeted by the security measures.  But letting people on base without a search? NEVER a good idea.
